blog post #8

What the earth will be like without human?
At first I thought I had a wonderful day, but the day ended up with my broken knee and my phone. I was playing my phone when I walked, and then I just fell like a bunch of coconut falling from the coconut tree. Personally, I don’t have anything else to write about besides my stories. But after what happened to me today, I decided to make up a story of myself.  “Once upon a time, there was a naughty girl who played with her phone while walking, and then she fell on the grass…” You will see the rest of the story once I have completed. All you need to know now is that this story is going to be great since my left knee still hurts a lot now.

Anyway, let’s talk about some good stuff. Recently I can’t find any resources to write about, so I decided to look up “writing prompt”, and Andersen’s fairy tales stories. It turned out that these stories did give me some inspiration. Andersen’s little mermaid is extremely famous all around the world, and since I have always dreamed about my life in the sea, I made up a story of my dream in which I was living in the sea alone. That’s the life I want, I don’t have to worry about any problems in my life, I ‘ll just need to relax and enjoy my day. However, you know that’s never going to happen in real life.
Then I came up with a better idea of my story. When I had my history class with Mr. Sacco, he talked about what would happen if human stopped to reproduce. That leads to my thinking. If human stopped reproducing, what the world will be like? If the last generation of human die, this earth will eventually become so quiet and no one will interrupt the growth of nature. I have seen a documentary talking about the earth without human. One the one hand, the earth will be more peaceful; on the other hand, since some creatures rely on human activities, they will probably become extinct. And after years and years, the buildings will no long exist, they will all fall from the ground. It will be so amazing to think about the earth without human. As a result, I wrote a story about the collapse of earth.

In general, I find that it’s getting harder for me to find my inspiration, and I have been trying harder. All I want to say is that it’s not easy to make up stories, and I think Leo feels the same way, since he has to write a poem every day. However, I think I will eventually come up with an idea of my upcoming stories and my 30-day challenge is going to be over soon! What I would do now is to g out and find my sources of inspiration, and probably watch more movies so I can have a sense about how to do it.

blogpost #8

 Blog #8
“There’s a legend of Spiderman. He travels between buildings, and he loves jumping from one building to another. He loves a girl, and he spies o her every day. He never let the girl find out he’s been spying on her. Well, turned around. He’s behind you.”
It’s kind of tricky story. It’s probably not necessary a story, but a very abstract one. I come up this story because “Avengers” is going to be shown in cinemas, and I am very excited about it. Besides, Spiderman saves innocent people’s lives, and he is altruistic since he always put himself in danger rather than putting other people’s lives. I desperately wish I can see “the real Spiderman” when I turn around, looking at the transparent glass. My brain right now is full of fantasy and imagination. Every girl wants a hero in her life, so do I. And I guess this is also the reason that I made this story with an interesting end.
I have looked up online in the website called “Writing Prompt” these days in order to have some ideas to make up new stories. For instance, there is a story that I extracted from the website “You’ve had a rough day at work. You head home and go straight to bed, mumbling, ‘I wish I’d wake up tomorrow and be anyone but me,’ before dozing off. When you wake up in the morning, your dream has come true, as you quickly realize that you are not you—you are someone else that you know! Excited to live the day in that person’s shoes, you set off, only to find a day in the life of that person isn’t as easy as you imagined.”(1) This story actually renders some ideas to me since it is what I think every day. The story just transformed your real life, but it narrates in another way.
Admittedly, writing a story every day is not easy. My friends have asked me “How can you make up a news story every day?” I just smiled and responded that I was trying my best to do it. The good news is that we are coming to the end of 30-day challenge, and I am doing well so far. However, there’s one thing that I gave up in my 30-day challenge—to keep drawing cartoons from every story. I found that was so hard for me and I didn’t have a clue on how to draw it. So I basically draw with match people without any artistic elements in my cartoons.

In short, almost 20 days have past, and 10 more days to go! In the last 10 days of challenge, I am planning on asking someone assigns me a topic and writes about it, which can make my challenge more interesting. I am pretty sure that I will have more ideas coming to me because life is like a book full of fairy tale; you keep digging and exploring, inspiration will come to you in the end.

16 days out of 30days!

I can’t believe we have come this far! Everyone had struggled in these 16 days, we all had concerns, freak-outs. Yet here we are; we have made this far. To recall these 16 days, I think I had a really hard time making stories, or writing blogs. It isn’t easy to make up stories, and it’s even harder to make them creative, interesting, and meaningful.
To begin with, the most important thing that I had learned in these 16 days is persistence. It is so tough for me to keep going and writing a story every day. Others may have challenges that are much easier than mine since they don’t need to make up something new from their mind. However, I think being challenging is a good thing; it absolutely makes me practicing my potential skills. Although I have failed during these 16 days, I wrote about my failure in my blog. Then when I woke up everyday morning, the first thing comes to my mind was to write a story.
In addition, I learned something in story writing as well—Imagination. Imagination is a very important element in story writing since a story requires creativity otherwise no one would want to read it. However, I have been struggling on hot to make my story more creative, and what should I add inn my stories? What should I write about? I solve these questions by these simple steps: (1) going out side and get some fresh air (2) keep calm and open my mind. Then I come back to dorm and think about it. I found my inspiration from outside, like I always do. Yet I discovered that music and movie could inspire me too. As a result, I prefer to watch some movies (most of them are horrors) to have something in mind to make my own stories.
In the end, if you read my stories, you will notice that my theme is always about nature, death, and personality. The reason I chose these theme was because I though they were part of us. They were things that around us every day. I wish writing these could help readers to understand a deeper meaning of life. Death isn’t necessarily awful, and being true to who you are is important. They don’t look connected, but if you have some in-depth thinking, you will know. This time, I wrote about a girl who keeps dancing ended up with a glorious death. The theme of this is basically about “don’t ever stop even someone is in your way”.

In general, I appreciated that I have come this far, and there are 14 days to go! In the next few day, I will probably look up some sources online, and I may add something more interesting in my challenge such as ask someone to assign me a topic to make a story. Anyway, I wish I could write better stories with creativity. I know it’s hard, but we just need to keep going, right?

What I will write in the rest of the challenge

I will probably write more about my feelings when I write then story, and also the inspiration of stories. And I will write about things that happen everyday that make me to write. Besides, I will write about my failure or frustration when I write the story. The comparison between Andesen and Me can be included in the blog, in order to show that how difficult it is for me to write a story every day. People can read it and give feedback, so I can write about them.  And I can even ask someone to assign me a topic and I can create something more. It will be much more fun in my challenge, and I can write more in my blog

blog 6 about 30-day challenge

30day challenge SIX!

Do you think lack of imagination is some sort of action of being mature? Or do you think imagination is something people lack nowadays? Actually, I prefer to believe the latter theory.
I have mentioned in my previous blog that I became more imaginative, and I do have a lot of good ideas of writing a fiction story. But this time, I want you to understand that imagination is not only important to me, but to you as well. To be frank, I am such a bad writer, but a good “daydreamer”. I think about weird things that you don’t think every day( well, it’s an exaggeration). Anyway, my point is, you want to be open-minded.
Yesterday was such as bad day for me, because it was rainy all day long. And, guess what’s more? There are warms on the ground, and they are literally everywhere! My least favorite thing is bugs, or anything that similar to bugs. I was just so luck that there weren’t any dead butterflies on the ground, because I have fear for them. All right, let’s get to the point; I made a story about warms. It’s a sad story, because as you saw, some warms died in the morning when sun came out. So I wrote about their lives in the rainy day, which were very cozy. “Spring has come, flowers are blooming”, however, in the end, all the warms die on the lawn because they didn’t make their way back. I enjoying rendering my story a personification, which made the warms seem energetic. See? You can even create a story with a bunch of warms if you are imaginative.
The other story has a deeper meaning because as I said, I want you to see how important imagination is. When we were young we all believed that Santa Claus would come at the night of Christmas and bring us presents. However, last time I asked my 5 years old sister, she told me she knew that Santa Claus didn’t exist. Her answer was out of expected, because I was such a believer when I was young. Thus, in this story I wrote about the passing of our dear Santa Claus. He saw everything in his life before he passed away, and the only thing he saw was children’s gradual change in their belief. Their parents don’t tell them that Santa Claus will come at the night of Christmas any more; instead, they tell their children that Santa Claus never existed. But, he does exist, doesn’t he? Anyway, you can see my story down below in the picture.

One of my friends has told me that my stories are too childish and simple. Of course I know that, stories are just some tricks to fool the young children. But I just don’t want to lose my childishness, because it was part of my memory. In short, just so you know, imagination is very important, and I know I am a little verbose because I said thousands of times. Perhaps your life will be more colorful with imagination.
