Ben&Jerry's Icecream

   Have you ever tasted Ben&Jerry's ice cream? If not, you should probably go and try, because I assure you it is extremely delicious ice cream.  Ben&Jerry's ice cream is noted in the states, but Ben p&Jerry's Foundation is not,many people still don't know this foundation even exists(Ben&Jerry's Foundation homepage). What is Ben&Jerry's Foundation? In short, it is a non-profit foundation that is beneficial to our society and environment(benandjerrysfoundation homepage).
    One of the members of Ben&Jerry's Foundation, Jeff Furman, is going to deliver speech at graduation to all people on campus in CA. When people ask him how he learns and studies, he says "I get my education from doing things, being immersed in them and trying to figure them out"(Cheshire Academy Homepage)  Isn't it very true? Because Learning is a life-long process, and education is a crucial element in everyday people's lives. As far as I'm concerned, learning is not only about studying hard than everyone else,  stay late in the library, or memorizing 500 new vocabulary words a day. From my perspective, learning is a gradual process; people learn from hundreds of times of practicing, and people learn from our experience. For example, learning is when you have to assemble a new bicycle, you don't bring it to a store and ask someone to do it for you; instead, the best way to learn is to do it yourself by looking up the instructions. What Jeff Furman says is a very normal skill of learning, but many people ignore it.
     Jeff Furman's role in Ben&Jerry's Foundation is basically to predict the trend of their business and provides their foundation team with explicit business plans(Ben&Jerry's Foundation Homepage). You may not believe that, when he was a senior in Cheshire Academy, he dreamed about being a chemical engineer(Cheshire Academy Homepage). But in the end, he becomes a business man instead, which is out of my surprise. His path to success leads me to think that life is changeable. When people talk about how great they will be in the future, and what plans they will have, they always dream big. But after reading his story, I think living in the moment is the significance of the key to success. For example, success is like a tall and towering skyscraper, but the foundation is very important to this skyscraper, because the foundations holds the whole building. And what Jeff did when he was young was to build the foundation one step at a time, so the skyscraper would be strong and unshakable.

   Gladly, Jeff Furman is invited to go to deliver his speech on the  graduation day. According to Mr. Nozell, our head of school of Cheshire Academy, “I know that our students will learn a lot from him. We hope this appearance will be a solid reunion of student and alma mater, and the first of many more visits in the future"(Cheshire Academy Homepage).He is not only a business man, but he was a good student in Cheshire Academy(Cheshire Academy Homapage), it is an honor to have the chance t meet him. From my perspective, his story inspires me to think how to be a good planner and a donator. Since they have a foundation that is beneficial to both the society and people, how did they come up with that idea? Personally, I think they have a good heart, and I think this is going to be the message the Jeff will deliver. Then they have to have a good plan in order to cope with any situation they will meet on their way to accomplish their mission. I admire his altitude towards life, he makes me feel like he can do whatever he wants to do. Therefore, passion seems very important to a person who wants to start a career.
   All in all, I am looking forward to meet him personally and ask some questions. Besides, his ice cream must be very tasty! From him, we should all know that fighting for what we want is the key to success.There is a saying" the starting point of all achievements is desire."(Napoleon Hill), and that's what we all need to think about.
