Letter

Dear Sam,
The main reason I went back to China is to see my family and friends.  I know that Spring Break was very short, and I treasured every moment with you guys--my high school friends. What a shame that I didn't see you before I left for the United States, and I wish you feel the same.
On March, 20th, I went to see you in my old high school: Chengdu foreign language school. It was because that it was Friday, so I thought I could hang out with you guys to have dinner together and watch a movie before I leave. However, my other friends showed up on that day and you didn't.  You told me that you just finished your SAT class and you weren't able to make it. I did understand, but I was sad that I couldn't see you one last time before I went to America. I asked you when you came back from your class to see a movie, but you didn't come because you were grounded by your mom. So we watched "Taken 3" without you, which was a fantastic movie.
I wasn't mad at you, because I understood that you weren't allowed to come to see me. But I was disappointed and depressed, because you, as my best friend, didn't see me one last time during Spring Break. Although I had a lot of fun with my other friends including Sarah, Ari, Gin,and such, your absence made me feel like something was missing. You once said to me " Nancy, you should've stayed with us until graduation." But I left after we spent one year together. I answered " I didn't expect that I would meet you guys who would be my best friends." Therefore, I wasn't mad at you, it was a pity that I left for America ahead of you.
As a result, I forgave your vacancy. It is because that we are best friends, and we will continue being best friends in the future no matter how far we are away from each other. We still have chances to meet each other again during breaks. We have promised each other that we would be best friends forever, and we could count on each other when one of us meet troubles or difficulties. I believe that friendship is built on contribution of two people.
The meaning of a friend is not about how often she visits you; is not about how gorgeous the gift is that she gives you. A true friend is the one that gives you advice; is the one that still keeps in contact with you even though she is far away from you; is the one that has your back whatever decision you make. I'm glad that I have you: who never gives up on me, who encourages me, and comforts me. Thank you, and I am looking forward to seeing you during Summer Holiday!
Love
Nancy
